1950s Style Mock Dirndl Dress with Full Gathered Skirt Custom Made in Your Size From a Vintage Pattern 1951
Simplicity 3485
$275.00
This dress will be custom made for you using a vintage pattern that is dated 1951. It is for a very cute dirndl dress. It features a deep plunging square neck bodice with optional lace up detail. This dress is a mock dirndl meaning it looks like a traditional dirndl but the bodice does NOT open in the front and is not boned (laces are decorational) and the 'blouse' is false with the gathered top bit being a sewn in piece and the sleeves sewn to the bodice. Your choice of short puffed sleeves or 3/4 sleeves with notched cuffs. The skirt is very full and gathered. This pattern suggests to use a border print fabric for the skirt as shown in the pattern illustration which I highly encourage! The waist seam is piped. (Matching piping would be fab along neckline as well!) This dress is unlined and zips on the side.
This dress will be custom made for you to your measurements. The pattern suggests cotton, border print cottons, linen, twill, gabardine or flannel. This outfit is so versatile though, it would look fab in almost any fabric really. Just let me know what you have in mind and I will find the right fabric for you.
Prices incude a budget of $12 per yard fabric max. If you want a more expensive fabric there will be an additional cost. Unsure about fabric and the total costs? Message me and we can discuss.
I will message you after the order is made and give you a list of measurements I will need to make your dream dress.
