1930s Style One Piece Swimsuit with Art Deco Tunic Swim Dress Cover Up Custom Made in Your Size From a Vintage Pattern 1932

  This swimsuit will be custom made for you using a pattern dated 1932. This pattern has the option of three items, a swim dress tunic, a one piece swimsuit and a wrap skirt that can double as a cape.

 View A- is the tunic/dress. I think this was originally meant to be a cover up but it could also we worn as a swim dress. It features a V neckline with art deco shaped seamlines with a pointed front midriff with triple darts. It has a V shaped back that can be made mid back or plunging to the waist. It closes on the side with your choice of a zipper or snap/hook placket.  It is unlined and comes with a belt. 

View C- is the one piece swimsuit, which is an old timey fitted bodysuit type. It is to be made out of a knit fabric with the pattern suggesting wool jersey. It has a scoop neck front and buttons on the left shoulder. This is not lined except for the crotch gusset so a thicker knit fabric will be needed to ensure opaqueness when wet. View C also shows the optional cover up wrap skirt which can double as a cape.

This will be custom made for you to your measurements. Since it is made to order I can make it out of any fabric and color you want. The pattern suggests for View A to be made out of plain or ribbed knitted wools, terrycloth, silk crepe de chin or moire. I'd say it would be just fine made out of modern swimsuit fabrics, roma, cotton wovens, twill, linen or even stetchy metallics. The pattern suggest for View C to be made out of wool jersey. I think modern swimsuit fabrics and knits like roma could work as well. The cover up skirt/cape is also suggested to be wool jersey as that was the most used for swimming at the time but any of the fabrics suggested above would work fine. This set is so versatile though, it would look fab in almost any fabric really. Just let me know what you have in mind and I will find the right fabric for you.
