1910s Style Scoop Neck Dress with Peplum Custom Made in Your Size From a Vintage Pattern 1919

McCall 9161

$350.00

This dress will be custom made for you in your size using a vintage pattern that dates to 1919. Can't you just see this being a dress worn by one of the lovely ladies on the set of the early seasons of Downton Abbey or Mr. Selfridge? It features a deep scoop neckline with a rounded collar. It has a sewn in pleated modisty panel and buttons in the front. The bodice has soft gathers at the sides. Your choice of short, fitted long or bell long sleeves. The skirt is a more narrow style with a full gathered peplum. The illustrations suggest using contrasting fabrics or colors for the bodice/peplum and skirt which I think looks great! The addition of trimming such as lace, ribbon or appliques would be lovely along the collar, hem or sleeves. This dress is unlined and comes with a tie belt.

I can make this for you as the original pattern suggests with a period correct openings OR I can make it with easier to access more modern closures. The original way would be to have the bodice and peplum sewn together and only attached to the skirt at the back waist with the skirt having an snap/hook opening at the left side seam. There would be snaps or hooks along the front waist to keep the skirt to the bodice. The more modern way would be to sew the front waist to the skirt as per normal and add a zipper or a snap/hook closure down the left side seam from just below the under the arm to the hip.

This will be custom made for you to your measurements. Since it is made to order I can make it out of any fabric and color you want. This dress pattern would be great in cotton, linen, velvet, silk, suiting or lightweight wool. I can make this in any fabric you want, it is up to you!

Prices incude a budget of $12 per yard fabric max. If you want a more expensive fabric there will be an additional cost. Unsure about fabric and the total costs? Message me and we can discuss.
